Algerbrush II with 1mm Burr for Rust Ring Removal

The Algerbrush II Rust Ring Remover is used to remove rust rings that can form when a foreign body combines with the moisture in the eye. The Algerbrush II has a low torque motor powered by a single AA battery. The burr in this rotary instrument is used as a "brush" rather than a drill, and the rust ring is thus “brushed” from the cornea or sclera, leaving a smooth surface that in turn heals much faster than with other instruments that may be used for this purpose.
There are two burr sizes available (0.5 mm and 1 mm), and while the instrument originally comes with one size or the other, replacement burrs are available and both burr sizes work in the same instrument. The size of the burr refers to the diameter of the very tip of the burr, so the 1 mm burr has a slightly larger diameter tip than the 0.5 mm burr. Each burr is made from high quality carbide steel and can thus be used multiple times, provided it is properly sterilized after each use.
